Founder/Editor: Trent Anderson DC, CAc, CSCS
Trent Anderson is a Twin-Cities based Sports Chiropractor and Performance Therapist who uses his extensive training and experience as a practitioner and elite athlete in order to elicit positive performance benefits in athletes of all ages and levels. He’s a practicing physician, receiving his Doctor of Chiropractic, with honors, from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN. From this training, Trent understands the importance of biomechanics and neuromusculoskeletal balance in not only staying away from pain and injury but also in achieving the highest levels of performance. He also graduated with honors from Arizona State University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a special emphasis on Sports and Exercise Psychology. Based on this knowledge and his own experiences as an elite prep basketball player and member of the Arizona State Men’s Basketball Team, Trent understands that the foundation of health and performance lies in the mental game.
Trent’s practicing philosophy is that in order to perform optimally, athletes need to have the correct combination of Mobility, Stability, Strength, and Symmetry. He uses a wide variety of techniques in order to achieve a balance between these four pillars of biomechanics in his patients, and is certified in Graston® Technique (a form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization) as well as RockTape® kinesiology taping, fascial manipulation, and joint manipulation/mobilization. He also utilizes the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) through the use of acupuncture, cupping, gua sha (the basis for all instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization), and the application of TCM theory to overall health, as well as performance. Trent is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA® and he has a strong background in rehabilitation, which he utilizes to create individualized exercise programs for each of his patients.
Trent works closely with the sports medicine and athletic communities in the Twin Cities and believes strongly in “treating what I am the most qualified to treat and referring to others for what I’m not.” This idea led him down the path to developing the Higher Performance Network with the hope of bringing together the best practitioners and best ideas from all fields in order to provide the best care possible.
